A New York City cab driver who drove the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for about 10 minutes on Tuesday night as they tried to shake off photographers has said the couple were clearly nervous during the short journey. Sukhcharn Singh, who goes by the name Sonny, told the BBC he picked them up at a local police precinct in Midtown Manhattan. Harry and Meghan's spokesperson has said in a statement that the couple endured a "relentless pursuit" that lasted for more than two hours. But Mr Singh, who witnessed one part of the drama, did not characterise his drive as a dangerous chase by paparazzi. Dressed in a navy blue shirt and speaking to reporters outside his family's home in Queens, Mr Singh described the headline-making drive. "I was on 67th Street and then the security guard hailed me. Next thing you know, Prince Harry and his wife were hopping into my cab," he said. "We got blocked by a garbage truck, and all of a sudden paparazzi came and started taking pictures." Harry and Meghan were about to share their destination when the security guard made the call to return to the police precinct. "They looked nervous, I think they were being chased the whole day or something," Mr Singh said. "They were pretty nervous, but the security guard, he was on it." In a statement, Harry and Meghan's spokesperson said they had experienced a "near-catastrophic car chase" on Tuesday. New York police confirmed an incident and said numerous photographers "made their transport challenging" - but that there were no reported collisions or injuries. One of the paparazzi drivers reportedly involved in the car chase has said it was "very tense" trying to keep up with their vehicle. Speaking anonymously to ITV's Good Morning Britain on Thursday, the driver said: "They did a lot of blocking and there was a lot of different types of manoeuvres to stop what was happening." He added: "If it was dangerous and catastrophic, it was more than likely based on the person that was driving." Photo agency Backgrid USA said it received photos of the event from photographers, "three of whom were in cars and one of whom was riding a bicycle". The agency said it took Prince Harry's allegations seriously and would be conducting its own investigation, but that according to the photographers, "there were no near-collisions or near-crashes during this incident". "It is important to note that these photographers have a professional responsibility to cover newsworthy events and personalities, including public figures such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle," the agency added. The couple were in New York attending an awards ceremony - the Ms Foundation Women of Vision Awards - along with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland. When they were chased after leaving, the spokesperson said, they tried to take shelter from the paparazzi by going to a Manhattan police station - which is where Mr Singh picked them up. For at least the few minutes they were in Mr Singh's car, he did not believe they were in danger. "I don't think that's true, I think that's all exaggerated and stuff like that. Don't read too much into that," Mr Singh said of the statement. He later added "that must have happened before" they got in his taxi. "New York City's the safest place to be," he continued. "There's police stations, cops on every corner, there's no reason to be afraid in New York." The paparazzi were not being aggressive during his drive, he said. "They were behind us. I mean, they stayed on top of us, that was pretty much it, it was nothing more. They kept their distance." Mr Singh described Harry and Meghan as "nice people". "At the end of the trip, they say, 'Oh nice meeting you'," and asked his name, Mr Singh recalled. As his passengers disembarked, the security guard paid and tipped him for the ride. "It was great. Ten-minute drive, $50," he said. "What can you ask for? You can't beat that!" Was Mr Singh dazzled by his famous passengers? Not particularly. "I have also picked up Keith Richards in my cab as well," Mr Singh said. "I pick up celebrities all the time. I didn't think much of it when they got in, either." Tom Hanks: I could appear in movies after death with AI technology.

Tom Hanks has raised the prospect of his career continuing after his death using artificial intelligence.

The Forrest Gump and Cast Away actor said the technology could be used to recreate his image, ensuring he continued to appear in movies "from now until kingdom come". 

But he admitted the developments posed artistic and legal challenges. 

His remarks came as the Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant said AI could be used by musicians to complete songs.

Hanks, 66, was asked about the legal ramifications of the new technology in the latest episode of The Adam Buxton podcast. 

This has always been lingering," he said.

 "The first time we did a movie that had a huge amount of our own data locked in a computer - literally what we looked like - was a movie called The Polar Express. 

 "We saw this coming, we saw that there was going to be this ability to take zeros and ones from inside a computer and turn it into a face and a character. That has only grown a billion-fold since then and we see it everywhere.

" The Polar Express, released in 2004, was the first film entirely animated using digital motion-capture technology.

Hanks said talks are being held in the film industry about how to protect actors from the effects of the technology. 

 "I can tell you that there is discussions going on in all of the guilds, all of the agencies, and all of the legal firms in order to come up with the legal ramifications of my face and my voice and everybody else's being our intellectual property," 

Hanks added. "What is a bona fide possibility right now is, if I wanted to, I could get together and pitch a series of seven movies that would star me in them in which I would be 32 years old from now until kingdom come.

"Anybody can now recreate themselves at any age they are by way of AI or deep fake technology. I could be hit by a bus tomorrow and that's it, but performances can go on and on and on and on. 

 "Outside the understanding of AI and deep fake, there'll be nothing to tell you that it's not me and me alone. 

 "And it's going to have some degree of lifelike quality. That's certainly an artistic challenge but it's also a legal one."

Oscar-winning US actor Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized with an unspecified medical complication since 11 April. The actor who had returned to social media on 4 May to address his followers and wrote "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed."

However, on Thursday, it was reported that the 55 year old Jamie Foxx's condition had worsened and his family was only keeping hope for a better outcome. 

Earlier this month Foxx took to social media platform Instagram and gave a shoutout to Nick Cannon for filling in on his hosting duties for the upcoming season of "Beat Shazam". "Appreciate ya my boy @nickcannon. See u all soon," he wrote.

On April 12, Foxx's daughter Corinne had revealed that the actor had "experienced a medical complication".

"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time," she had said However, several media reports and people familiar with Jamie Foxx's situation say that the actor's health is in far more danger than his family is letting on. RadarOnline.com has reported "Jamie's people are saying he's doing OK and improving, while doctors try to get to the bottom of his problems, but he wouldn't be in a hospital this long if he was anything close to OK." 

The reports have also mentioned that while the family hopes for the best, they are also ‘preparing for the worst’. 

 Hindustan Times quoted reports stating that doctors are conducting more tests to ensure that he is fit for discharge. 

 Foxx was recently seen shooting the upcoming Netflix film "Back in Action" in Atlanta, as per the entertainment website The Hollywood Reporter. "Back in Action" reunites Foxx with Cameron Diaz, who took an eight-year break from acting before Foxx convinced her for the action comedy.

Foxx's health crisis has been so severe that the producers of his upcoming film Back in Action decided to finish production without him. They've used Jamie's body double to complete his last scenes with co-star Cameron Diaz. 

Foxx won a best actor Oscar for his role as Ray Charles in the music biopic "Ray". His most recent credits included Netflix movie "Day Shift" and a guest appearance in "Spider-Man: No Way Home".

Nearly a year after his birth, the name of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s first child has finally been revealed. RZA Athelston Mayers will celebrate his first birthday on May 13 and has definitely had a cooler life in these first 363 days than most of us ever will.

The Daily Mail obtained a copy of little RZA’s birth certificate, which not only shows that the world’s coolest baby is named after Wu-Tang Clan member RZA and his dad, who also has the middle name Athelston, but that he’s a Taurus with Leo rising. It seems only fitting that cosmically speaking, this kid is destined to be ambitious and hardworking, but the magnetic center of attention in any room that he’s in.

Little RZA’s name appears to be following a paternal family tradition: Rocky’s legal first name is Rakim, in honor of the rapper Rakim. In 2019, Rakim told Hot 97 about signing a baby Rocky’s diaper in Harlem after his mom spotted Rakim and told him the baby’s name. “I remember that day because that’s the first time I remember hearing somebody naming their son after me,” he said. 

 Fans had previously speculated that Rihanna and Rocky’s son, last spotted hanging out with his parents before their fashionably (very) late entrance to the Met Gala in New York City earlier this month, was named Noah. Not quite!

RZA’s birth name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, and his legacy is impressive: Beyond producing most of the Wu-Tang Clan’s records, he’s director of the martial arts movie The Man with the Iron Fists, deliverer of a legendary diss on pharma bro Martin Shkreli, composer of ice cream truck jingles for the modern era, and patron saint of Staten Island, with a boozy movie theater as his temple, among other accomplishments.

While Rih and Rocky haven’t revealed when their second child (who, as a reminder, has already been to the Oscars, Super Bowl, and Met Gala in utero, with the Super Bowl serving as the pregnancy reveal) is due, we’ll have to wait and see if they continue the namesake trend. He was a news anchor and a politician, but Jerry Springer was perhaps best known for his namesake TV talk show. Fans tuned in for explorations of controversial topics and for his controversial guests, who often ended up throwing chairs and brawling. Well, Jerry Springer died today. He was 79. Ann Thompson of member station WVXU reports. ANN THOMPSON, BYLINE: For nearly three decades, Jerry Springer was the host of a talk show that was seen by millions. JERRY SPRINGER: My guests today say they wish they could turn back the hands of time. Please meet Dusty (ph). He says there aren't enough excuses in a bottle of Jack Daniels for hooking up with his wife's mother. UNIDENTIFIED AUDIENCE MEMBERS: Oh. JENE GALVIN: I think his legacy is a lot of things, and it almost depends on how you knew him. THOMPSON: Lifelong friend and family spokesperson, Jene Galvin. GALVIN: Whether anybody likes it or not, his legacy is they knew him from the TV show. If you knew him from politics, then you know him in an altogether different way or an additional way. THOMPSON: But the television show was the way people remembered him most. TV critic David Bianculli interviewed Springer many times and says he was very polite and civil. But Bianculli says his television show was nothing but detrimental. However, it's a legacy that must be shared. DAVID BIANCULLI, BYLINE: If you're going to blame Jerry Springer for lowering the bar in terms of television and discourse and civility, you have to also blame the audience that had an appetite for that sort of misbehavior. THOMPSON: Gerald Norman Springer was born in London on February 13, 1944. His parents were German Jews who fled to England, and they arrived in the United States when their son was five. Springer went on to become an attorney early in life and got his start in politics before jumping to television. He ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 1970. He was on Cincinnati City Council from 1971 until he famously resigned in 1974 after being caught writing checks for sex. He would run again and win and even served one term as Cincinnati's mayor. Jene Galvin says as a politician, he had an enviable approachability. GALVIN: People would just approach him with smiles on their faces, and he was kind to everybody and would, you know, shoot selfies, have a conversation. THOMPSON: Hamilton County Commissioner Alicia Reece, a longtime Springer friend, says at the start of his political career, he worked to help lower the age young people could vote in Ohio. ALICIA REECE: And he said, no, if we can go to war and serve our country, we can vote. And so he came with Vote 19. And that's really what led to us being able to vote at 18. THOMPSON: Springer got out of politics and later joined a local TV station starting a long career as a newscaster, commentator and even went undercover as an unhoused person to do a series of reports. Why Fan Favorite Sara Beth Unexpectedly Quit ‘American Idol’

American Idol saw a rare elective departure in the sixth episode of Season 21 when 25-year-old mom of three Sara Beth opted to leave the competition. 

 Sara Beth already had some memorable moments this season, namely her audition that featured a remark from judge Katy Perry that some viewers regarded as slut-shaming and Sara Beth considered mom-shaming. When the red-headed musician first auditioned and revealed her age and her number of kids, Perry mock-fainted in her seat. 

 “If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out!” the singer said in response. Perry’s response is what drew ire. “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much!” she quipped. Sara Beth laughed in the moment, but later said in a TikTok that the comment was “hurtful” and she felt mom-shamed.

“Katy Perry made a joke that wasn’t super kind,” Sara Beth said in the video after fans asked how she was feeling about the comment. “It was embarrassing to have that on TV, and it was hurtful,” she continued. “I think that women supporting and uplifting other women is so cool and I think that mom-shaming is super lame and I think that it’s hard enough to be a mom and it’s hard enough to be a woman.”

The contestant has been a mom since she was 18 and has been pursuing her music career for less than one year. During the April 2 episode, which showcased the first performances of Hollywood Week and featured mentoring from Idol alums like Justin Guarini, Clay Aiken, Jordin Sparks, David Archuleta, and more, it wasn’t her dynamic with Perry that made her want to leave. Rather, she missed her young children and no longer thought the competition was worth it.

“This opportunity is really rad, but this is actually going to be my last performance, because my heart’s at home,” she told judges Perry, Lionel Ritchie, and Luke Bryan. “So, I’m going to get home to my babies. They kind of need me.” 

 “A big part of me feels like I’m not cut out for show business,” Sara Beth admitted at another point in the episode. “I don’t even know what show business is.”

 “I’ve been a mom since I was 18. I’ve been married since I was 18. … I don’t think I realized quite how hard it would be to be away from my kids,” she added. “They’re all still really young. … There is a lot of guilt when you leave your kids to do something completely selfish.” 

 She was also seen telling a producer backstage, “I feel like I’m not gonna win the show anyway, so I might as well go home.”

 Sara Beth had gotten mentoring from Aiken and performed what he called an “infectiously lovely” version of The Police’s “Roxanne.” Following her performance, Perry, Ritchie, and Bryan urged Sara Beth to stay and continue pursuing her musical dreams.

“What just happened? She’s gonna leave? What just happened?” Ritchie reacted to her departure announcement in shock. Bryan said her decision “was a mistake.” Perry had Sarah come back to the stage so she could tell her, “I know life is scary. I also know that it’s easier to walk away than to be rejected. But then I also know that you lose out on your fullest potential. I know you love your family, your kids; I know that as a mother. But self-love is just as big as motherly love. Don’t leave the competition.” 

The trio of panelists revealed their intentions to progress her to the next round. “You’ve opened a door you thought you’d never open, and you got a yes. And you may get another yes in the future. Do not give up,” Perry urged. But the pleas were to no avail. Sara Beth had made up her mind. “I’m really humbled and grateful, and Katy had some really nice things to say. It would be nice if my kids were a little older. 

I understand how big of an opportunity this is,” she said as she left the theater. “But I still kind of want to get home. I am sure when I get home, I will regret it and be like, ‘Man, you should have stayed.’”

 Sara Beth may have been a “hidden gem” and “accidental idol,” as Perry described her, but some people just don’t enjoy competition.

And yes I love my beliebers.” Selena Gomez did not hold back after the comment and indirectly accused Justin of cheating. “Funny how the ones who cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive. No wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love,” she wrote. The drama stopped after a while, and the two got back together again before ending things permanently years later.
