Olivia Rodrigo will do anything to see an ex in the new Petra Collins-directed music video for her latest single, “Bad Idea Right?” 

The guitar-heavy single, produced by Rodrigo’s main collaborator Dan Nigro, features Rodrigo speak-singing sassy lyrics about wanting to see a former flame, but knowing it’s not the best decision (and maybe not caring).

“Haven’t heard from you in a couple of months/ But I’m out right now and I’m all fucked up/ And you’re callin’ my phone and you’re all alone/ And I’m sensing some undertone,” Rodrigo sings in the first verse. The amped-up chorus repeats over and over, “Seeing you tonight — it’s a bad idea, right?” 

The fuzzy video, which looks straight out of the ’90s, opens at a house party where Rodrigo and her real-life best friends Tate McRae, Iris Apatow and Madison Hu are congregating in the bathroom. While wandering (and crowd-surfing) around the party, random attendees confirm to Rodrigo that it’s a “bad idea, right.” But she ignores them all, saying to herself: “Fuck it, it’s fine.” She then begins her journey to said ex’s place: hitchhiking on the back of a truck in the rain and getting splashed by a slushie on public transit until she finally arrives.

The single and video were simultaneously released on Thursday night following Rodrigo’s social media teasers that gave fans a first look at the single’s music video and flirty cover art — a fuzzy photo of the popstar posing behind glass with the song’s pensive title emblazoned across it in red lipstick with kiss marks.

“Bad Idea Right?” is the second single and music video from Rodrigo’s upcoming sophomore album “Guts,” due Sept. 8 via Geffen Records. “Vampire” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Rodrigo the youngest artist to debut three No. 1 hits on the chart behind “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U.”

“Guts” is the follow-up to her 2021 debut “Sour,” and like “Sour,” the 12-song set will be produced by Dan Nigro. “Guts” is said to be a project that will tackle the “growing pains” Rodrigo has experienced since launching into megastardom with her breakout track “Drivers License.”

In a cover story with Variety in August 2021, Rodrigo opened up about what drives her to be so candid about her emotions. 

“I definitely talked about my deepest, darkest secrets and insecurities on ‘Sour’ — which is sort of strange to be like, ‘Here, you guys can have this. Anyone who wants to listen to it can listen to it,’” Rodrigo said. “But it’s really empowering when it comes out, and it’s been really awesome for me to see people resonate with that vulnerability and relate to it.”

Haley Odlozil, who amassed an audience of millions while documenting her fight with Stage IIIC ovarian cancer on TikTok, has died at age 30. 

Her husband, Taylor, announced her death on Instagram and Tiktok on Friday.

“It is with unbelievable sadness that I tell all of you my sweet Haley has passed away,” he wrote on Instagram next to a picture of the

 couple with their 4-year-old son, Weston. “I cannot begin to describe the amount of heartache & grief myself & our entire family is experiencing. I never knew my heart could physically hurt.”

The cancer battle had been ongoing for eight years, and had spread to other parts of the body before her death. 

The couple documented their journey on TikTok, compiling more than 2.5 million followers between the two of them.

On Friday, he had a different message.

“As the husband, I have seen every moment. The happy ones & the sad ones. One thing I can tell you, she suffered greatly fighting this disease that slowly tore her body apart for the last 8 years,” he wrote under a video that received 2.1 million likes. “The thought of her being completely healed in a body with no pain & no scars in heaven makes me so incredibly happy for her but so overwhelmingly sad I’m not there to see it.”

The couple had been together for 16 years, with Haley turning 30 in February. 

In Friday’s post, Taylor bid his wife farewell.

“I love you Haley. More than I can put into words. You are a part of who I am and I will never stop loving you. I cant wait to see you again,” he wrote.

Taylor said he won’t be posting on social media “for a while” in order to process Haley’s death with his son.

On Friday, Kardashian Barker shared video footage from a Blink-182 concert where she held up a sign that read, “Travis I’m pregnant,” from the audience.

As fans may recall, a woman did the same thing in Blink-182’s 1999 video for the hit song, “All The Small Things.”

In the video, which parodies '90s boy bands, Blink-182 performs for a crowd of adoring fans who hold up signs for the rockers that say things like “Blink Me” and “I Want You That Way, Baby.”

During video that covers an instrumental bridge, Barker kisses and rolls with a woman in an animal print bikini on the beach. That woman later, at the concert in the video, dances to the song while holding up a yellow sign that reads, “Travis I’m pregnant.”

In the video Kardashian Barker's shared, unlike the music video, Barker immediately jumped off stage to give her a hug and a kiss after seeing her sign.

She has three children with her former partner, Scott Disick: Mason, 13, Penelope, 10, and Reign, 8. Barker has two children from his previous marriage to model Shanna Moakler: Landon, 19, and Alabama, 17.

The show followed Kardashian Barker as she started IVF. However, in Season Three of “The Kardashians,” she said she was "officially done with IVF" and wanted to leave her family planning in God’s hands.

“I would love a baby more than anything but I just really believe in what God has in store for us,” she said at the time. “If that’s a baby, then I believe that it will happen.”

During Season One, Kardashian Barker also said she wasn’t having “the most amazing experience” with IVF.

She said the medicine had some side effects that left her feeling “a little bit off, not like myself, super moody and hormonal.”

“I’m a lunatic half the time,” she said on the show. 

Fans expressed their joy at Kardashian Barker’s pregnancy announcement on Instagram.

Ben Affleck’s often snapped looking sad, annoyed and tired, but there’s a harsh reality behind these photos.

 Affleck, 50, is one of the most famous and successful actors/directors in Hollywood and he has also had a very colourful personal life. 

 He was married to fellow actor Jennifer Garner and the pair share three children and he is now married to icon Jennifer Lopez.

The combination of his soaring career and star-studded personal life means he is often snapped out and about. 

 The man is so famous people want to see him at the grocery store, grabbing a coffee or even just chatting on the phone.

Usually, when male celebrities are photographed, they are either smiling or expressionless, but Ben’s had a history of looking sad, grumpy and even exasperated.

The result? He has become a meme.

It has become a form of sport on the internet to write funny tweets next to photos of Ben looking glum.

I suppose that reveals how rare it is to see a man convey emotion – if they do, it is meme worthy.

Sure, some of the commentary surrounding Ben’s sad faces are funny, but does it just enforce the outdated culture that men should be mocked for showing emotion?

 Relationship expert Amanda Lambro said: “It is already typically difficult for men to show emotion. So if he is in fact sad, as a community, we are now pointing out to him that it isn’t acceptable to ‘look’ that way.”

Clinical psychologist Dr Aileen Alegado further explained: “It shows that this outdated concept of men having to hold in their emotion and ‘man up’ is still a widely held belief in society and we have a long way to go on a societal level.

“I see a lot of male clients who struggle to show their emotions and this impacts heavily upon their everyday life and wellbeing. It can impact upon their relationships heavily,” she said.

So what can we do to change this? Well, it’d help if we stopped making fun of Ben for daring to share an ounce of emotion.

 “Talking about it, making men feel open to expressing how they feel and having these discussions in the media can help to bring about change,” Dr Alegado advised.

The reaction to Ben’s less-than-happy expressions enforces a culture that values men seeming stoic over sad. 

“As a psychologist, I find when my male clients begin to open up and express their emotions, we really start to see positive change happen in all aspects of their lives,” Dr Alegado said.

Consider why you are shocked firstly and then work through it. It is a you problem and not a Ben problem. 

 The Oscar winner doesn’t need to learn to smile more – we need to learn to respond correctly. 

“The best way to understand why we have these beliefs is to look inward at our own triggers and misconceptions. Where is this coming from for us? Once we can understand how these beliefs were formed and where these ideas came from we can actively work on reframing them for ourselves,” Dr Alegado said.

Despite the controversy, ‘The Idol’ is mostly guilty of being just plain boring.

The expression “From the sublime to the ridiculous” has seldom felt more fitting than in watching “The Idol,” HBO’s new wannabe-sexy drama, a week after the “Succession” and “Barry” finales. Although the series premiere isn’t as bad, or offensive, as reports of production issues and early reviews out of the Cannes Film Festival might have led people to believe, it’s guilty of another sin – namely, being just plain boring.

Created by Sam Levinson (“Euphoria,” who directed the opening episode) with star Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Reza Fahim, the show joins a long list of movies and TV shows pulling back the curtain on the slimy side of the music or entertainment industry. Despite endeavoring to feel provocative, “The Idol” mostly traffics in limp clichés and very, very stilted performances.

Lily-Rose Depp stars as Jocelyn, a Britney-like pop star (the comparison is overtly made) seeking to relaunch her career after an unspecified breakdown. She’s introduced as her assorted handlers fuss over and about her, reacting to a public-relations crisis created when a very private photo of her leaks online.

All of that amounts to an extended teaser, though, before Jocelyn agrees to a night out at a club, where she meets its semi-mysterious owner, Tedros (Tesfaye), and seems to be instantly drawn to him. (“Seems” being the operative word, since Depp basically is allowed to have one expression through most of the episode, so it’s frankly hard to tell.)

Although her assistant (Rachel Sennott) is convinced Tedros is bad news, Jocelyn invites him over and lets him listen to her yet-to-be-released new single. That creates an opening for him to begin his Svengali act, telling her that she needs to open up sexually in order to become a convincing singer.

Where “The Idol” goes from there remains to be seen, but if the first chapter is any indication, it’s hard to see the show getting anywhere particularly interesting. Unlike “Euphoria,” which traffics in pushing the sexual envelope around teenage characters (played, admittedly, by older actors), the glitzy backdrop actually works against the drama, such as i t is, feeling edgy or distinctive.

HBO took the unusual step of not making “The Idol” available in advance to critics who didn’t catch its Cannes screening, a sign that the network (like CNN, a unit of Warner Bros. Discovery) was hoping to avoid another drubbing before viewers had a chance to see it.

As is always the case with these things, it’s possible to run but not hide, though that decision does make one of Tedros’ lines of homespun wisdom to Jocelyn, “You’ve gotta stop caring what people think,” especially ironic.

During another exchange, Tedros muses to the pop star, “You’ve got the best job in the world. You should be having way more fun.”

Whatever else “The Idol” is or wants to be, it’s definitely not much fun.
