In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Heard, who is currently in London filming Justice League, filed a request to move her deposition from Friday to Saturday, Aug. 13, due to her inability to return stateside in time for the scheduled meeting.

Benicio del Toro thinks there’s something ‘a little manipulative and twisted’ about Amber Heard’s behaviour in light of her accusations against ‘abusive’ Johnny Depp.

The actor has come out in support of Depp by slamming his ex, saying there is ‘something really twisted about that girl’ and adding that she is the source of a ‘lot of trouble’.
Del Toro made the shocking comments despite admitting he didn’t ‘know the specifics’ of the situation, and went onto describe his Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas co-star Depp as ‘a nice guy, very caring, very smart’.

‘What I know, there’s a lot of trouble from the girl that sounds a little manipulative,’ del Toro told the New York Daily News. ‘It sounds a little bit like there’s something really twisted about that girl … but I don’t know the specifics.’
Del Toro also speculated about Heard’s motives for the divorce, criticising her decision to file quickly on from the death of Depp’s mother, despite her claims that her husband was abusive to her.
He said: ‘It seems the fact that his mom passed away and she filed for divorce two days later and then she wants money and she’s saying she got hit, it’s almost like, wait, I saw them not too long ago. Maybe it was January, a dinner for the Oscars or something like that. He was there with her and they were fine.’
Heard, Depp and del Toro were last photographed together in November at the Hollywood Film Awards in LA.

Depp and Del Toro have acted in movies together twice – Cannes Man in 2002 and 1998’s Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, the latter of which increased Depp’s status in Hollywood.
Del Toro might do well to lawyer up after making these comments, because Heard filed a lawsuit against Depp’s friend Doug Stanhope for allegedly accusing her of blackmail and manipulation.
Meanwhile a mutual friend of Depp and Heard, who lived with them for a year, has taken her side in the ongoing row, claiming she’s seen evidence of the attacks.

Doug Stanhope wrote a piece for The Wrap entitled 'Johnny Depp Is Being Blackmailed by Amber Heard – Here’s How I Know.'

When comedian Doug Stanhope accused Amber Heard of blackmailing Johnny Depp with false abuse claims to get her way in their divorce, he was scheming to divert attention away from true facts which caused the marriage to fail, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in Arizona Superior Court.

After Heard appeared in court with a bruised face and a request for a temporary restraining order against Depp (which was granted), the comedian penned a guest column for The Wrap claiming she was fabricating domestic abuse claims in order to force the actor to agree with her divorce terms.

Heard responded to the website through an attorney, calling the claims defamatory and demanding a retraction. The story is still posted, but now contains a parenthetical that Heard says the claims are "unequivocally false" and a link to the story containing the full response.

She's now suing Stanhope, and others who have not yet been named, for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

"Stanhope is a close friend of Johnny Depp and, as part of a coordinated effort, wrote a highly defamatory article about Ms. Heard, filled with completely false, highly defamatory and very hurtful statements," says Heard's attorney Charles Harder. "Ms. Heard seeks the maximum possible jury award, and will donate 100% of the proceeds from the lawsuit to Chrysalis, a domestic violence shelter in Arizona, in an effort to counter the setback made to women by the defendants’ defamatory article and related wrongful acts."

The lawsuit also details a “campaign of violence” that Depp has inflicted upon Heard over the years.

“Depp has hit and kicked Heard on numerous occasions, has thrown objects at her, at one point nearly suffocated her to the point where she feared for her life,” states the complaint. “Heard repeatedly returned to Depp, despite his verbal and physical mistreatment of her, hoping optimistically that the man she married would change his behavior. Each time Heard returned, however, within months, the cycle of substance abuse and violence repeated.”

Heard claims she reached her breaking point after Depp attacked her in a violent, delusional state following the death of his mother.

New photos have surfaced that provide a glimpse into the injuries Amber Heard alleges she experienced at the hands of Johnny Depp.

In images first acquired by People, the actress and model is photographed in what appears to be a bathroom with bruises on her face. In additional photographs, a visible cut is seen on the 30-year-old's lip as she poses in front of a black background.

According to a source close to Amber, the injuries occurred last December when Johnny allegedly attempted to injure his wife with a pillow.

In court documents obtained by E! News, the actress described a December event that could correlate with the alleged timeline of the photos just surfacing. "There also have been several prior incidents of domestic violence with Johnny, in particular there was one severe incident in December 2015 when I truly feared that my life was in danger," she said in her declaration, but did not provide any more information on that altercation.

In the same documents filed in last week's domestic violence restraining order request, which was subsequently granted, Amber also alleged that her estranged husband has "been on a downward spiral for a few months" and has "battled with substance abuse for quite some time."

According to a separate source, his sobriety has played a role in his actions.

"Johnny is a loving man by nature, but his drug use has completely changed him," our source shared. Friends close to the situation have also told our source that it was like a switch…he'd be this loving fun guy one minute and a few hours later would be completely unrecognizable.

As Johnny continues touring with his band The Hollywood Vampires, the actor has remained quiet on the allegations brought against him. The only statement thus far came after the couple filed for divorce.

"Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life," his rep shared with E! News. "Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."

Johnny Depp's daughter and his former partner of 14 years have vehemently defended his character. A good buddy of his insists the actor is being blackmailed. His attorney contends that Amber Heard's allegations are motivated by money. Hollywood Vampires went on stage in Lisbon with Depp on guitar as usual.

These are the people whom you would assume would be rallying around Depp, the movie star's tight-knit circle closing ranks and painting Heard's allegations that her husband of 15 months was physically and verbally abusive as desperate and patently false.

But why were so many more people, 99 percent of whom have never met the man and will never meet the man, so quick to brand Heard a liar? Not to mention a "gold digger" a "manipulator" and some far nastier words.

Not everyone piled on Amber, and most people, relative to how many there are on the earth, at least, didn't take any kind of public position. But many did, Facebook and Twitter feeds filling up with mostly pro-Johnny commentary. And that says so much about celebrity idol worship, misogyny (mostly the women-hating-women kind in this case), ageism (in reverse), jealousy and that rush to judge the accuser when a famous man is accused of doing something terrible, that it's impossible to pinpoint one sweeping sociological failing.

Of course there's also no exact "right" way to have reacted to the news, versus a "wrong" way, and believing in Depp's innocence until someone proves otherwise isn't "bad." But what has he ever done to deserve so many strangers' undying loyalty? Where was the #FreeAmber hashtag last Friday? Let's delve:

Heard's restraining order request comes less than a week after the actress filed for divorce from the star. She cited irreconcilable differences in the documents. In court, Heard presented a photograph, obtained by E! News, as evidence, which shows what appears to be a bruise on her right eye.

E! News has reached out to their reps for comment.

As for why Heard filed while Depp was out of town promoting Alice Through the Looking Glass, a source tells E! News, "This is not about right now. It's an ongoing thing that she needs protection from."

"She did what she had to do to protect herself," the source adds. "It wasn't an easy decision, but this is the truth. It was very hard for her."

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had only been married for 15 months when she filed for divorce on Monday, but a source close to the actress says she felt it was a necessary step after months of strife.

"Amber did what she had to do to take care of herself," the Heard source tells PEOPLE

Tension between the couple started even before they wed, with a source telling PEOPLE Heard expressed hesitation about settling down with the actor 22 years her senior at their engagement party in March 2014, two months after their engagement.
"Before Amber met Johnny she was just a regular super cool hipster chick living with roommates who dated girls," a source tells PEOPLE. "At their engagement party she kind of got cold feet ... she was just like what is this scene and what am I doing here? She kind of couldn't believe it was her life now."

In December 2014, a source told PEOPLE there "is turmoil in the relationship" and wasn't sure if and when they would wed.

The couple eventually tied the knot in February of last year. Depp, 52, was not present when she rang in her 30th birthday this past April in Palm Springs.

Heard's filing came just three days after the death of Depp's beloved mother, Betty Sue Palmer, at 83.

Although the couple never spoke publicly about any discord, Heard acknowledged rumors about the state of their union while speaking with Marie Claire last November.

"I try not to react to the horrible misrepresentation of our lives," she said. "But it is strange and hard."
